There’s something about the trees…
That’s what I thought when I woke up in the car after a 9-hour drive from Charlottesville, VA, as I stared out the window at the quiet, peaceful squares, glowing in the dim, evening light for the first time. After moving to Savannah and graduating from The Savannah College of Art and Design, I followed my design career to New York City, but I was forever drawn back to the small, southern town that gave so much to me. It seems there has always been one constant – a protector and keeper of the past, present and future – radiating with hope from the heart of the city: it has always been the trees.
Named after Savannah’s original nickname, Forest City of The South® features Savannah and many visual and historical aspects of The Low Country. Through photography, history and storytelling, we strive to unravel the true soul and spirit of this remarkable and mystical place. Like the acorn, our mission is to spread a message of hope.
Finally, we cannot do this journey without you. Handmade greeting cards featuring historic sites and local scenery are available in our online shop. A portion of the proceeds are donated monthly to the Savannah Tree Foundation. Thank you for joining us.
